1. Terms and conditions for the use of Innovation Norway’s photo bank for travel and tourism

1.  The photographs can only be used to market Norway as a holiday destination. The photographs can only be used by organisations, companies or other commercial enterprises whose primary object is to promote Norway as a travel destination. Such permission does not apply to organisations, companies or other commercial enterprises whose primary object is to market other products or services and that wish to link them to Norway as a travel destination.

2.  The photographs cannot be used for directly commercial purposes. This means that the photographs cannot be used in products intended for sale, with the exception of travel and tourism guides.

3.  If the photographs contain/reproduce works of art or other copyright works, the user is responsible for clearing the rights with the copyright holder/BONO.

4.  The photographer and visitnorway.com must be credited (unless the credit information is something else). The credit must be placed on the photograph itself, directly under it or in the immediately surrounding area. Crediting can be done by using the mouse-over function on websites and in applications if this is more expedient.

5.  Changes can be made in the form of cropping of the photographs. The photographs must not be manipulated. The photographs must not be altered or reproduced in a manner that may damage the photographer’s reputation.

6.  Photographs that have been ordered can only be used in the production for which the order was placed. They must then be deleted. If the user wants to use the photographs in further productions, they must be re-ordered. Nor must the photographs be lent, sold, handed over or in any other way transferred to other parties without Innovation Norway’s consent.

7.  If the conditions for the use of the photographs are not complied with, the use will be invoiced at the individual photographer’s applicable rates. In addition, Innovation Norway will demand payment of a fine of NOK 20.000 for the violation, each time the individual material is used.

8.  Innovation Norway shall be free to revoke right of use of the photographs and/or exclude the user from future use of the photo bank.




2.Guidelines for the use of films

All film clips can be downloaded and used freely in low-resolution format.

Film clips in high-resolution format and films can be downloaded and used in their original form for the purpose of marketing and sale of Norway as a tourism destination, or to create interest in, and build the reputation of Norway as a tourism destination and nation. This permission does not apply when the object concerns TV or cinema commercials.

The name of the Producer and Visitnorway.com must always be credited in the credits/kept on the film material when it is used.

Innovation Norway's approval is required in cases where the user/sender is a commercial player and the purpose is not to market Norway as a tourism destination. This applies both to the use of whole films and when someone wishes to use excerpts/clips from the films.Contact us to enquire about use.

The films cannot be cut or excerpts used or the soundtrack changed without the special permission of Innovation Norway. Innovation Norway will consider each request for use individually.

The person who orders the film material is responsible for ensuring that it is used in accordance with our guidelines, and that the information provided in the registration form about the use of the material is correct.

If the conditions for use of the film material are not complied with, Innovation Norway will invoice the amount that the user would have had to pay for corresponding use of film/film clips calculated on the basis of the ordinary market price. In addition, Innovation Norway will demand payment of a fine for the violation in the amount of twice the ordinary market price for corresponding use of film/film clips, but under no circumstances less than NOK 3,500 per clip for non-commercial use and NOK 10,000 per clip for use in a commercial context.

The person who orders the film material is responsible for ensuring that it is used in accordance with our guidelines, and that the information provided in the registration form about the use of the material is correct.

Innovation Norway shall be free to revoke the right of use of the film material and/or exclude the user from future use of the film bank.
